Objective

  • Use the Cycle of Inquiry method of problem solving to improve one thing about the Broadcasting program

Procedure

  1. Make a big list of areas for improvement
  2. Choose one area
  3. Research the problem
  4. Propose a solution
  5. Try out the solution
  6. Evaluate the results
  7. Make refinements
  8. Report out to the class/community

  • Choice of problem/improvement
  • Flexible grouping
  • Expectations vary based on known factors

Evaluation

  • You will be graded on the following things:
    • Procedure---How well you understood/followed the Cycle of Inquiry
    • Innovation--- How good/creative your solution was
    • Presentation--- How effective you communicate the report and results
    • Growth--- How much you learned from this project and how you will use it in the future

  • Choice of area: Friday, 4/27
  • Research of the problem: Tuesday, 5/1
  • Proposed Solution: Wednesday, 5/2
  • Trying out the Solution: Wednesday, 5/9
  • Evaluation of the results: Thursday, 5/10
  • Refinements Plan: Friday, 5/11
  • Presentations: Monday-Friday 5/14-5/18
